Department Clerk III - Juvenile Probation - Full-time

OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF JOB:
To perform specialized clerical duties within the Probation Department
 
Other duties may include but are not limited to:
First in rotation to answer phones and inquiries, and greets public, directing same to appropriate staff members and/or taking messages; processes inter-office mail and prepares outgoing mail, distributes incoming mail and signs for deliveries and certified mail; prepares and distributes forms, letters, petitions, orders, reports and other documents as directed; performs general clerical duties such as data entry, copying, proofreading and printing; operates and maintains typewriter, computer, fax machine and other office equipment; maintains and updates files including transfers, department logs, and other departmental documents; coordinates and updates schedules and interacts with other court-related offices as needed; tracks adult/juvenile costs, fines, supervision fees and restitution payments; prepares cases for ARD Court; attends and documents ARD Court with ARD Coordinator Officer; enters ARD cases into the Probation Case Management System; types conditions, prepares orders for the Court; prepares detainers at Probation Officers’ request and faxes to appropriate institution, etc.

This is a full-time position, M - F, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.


EDUCATION/TRAINING:

High school diploma or equivalent plus computer and clerical experience required. 

WORK EXPERIENCE:
Experience interfacing with the public, basic clerical abilities preferred, or any acceptable combination of training and experience.
