County Detective - Full-Time - District Attorney's Office

Kittanning, PA

This is a full-time County Detective position at $27.00 per hour, 40 hours per week at the Armstrong County District Attorney's Office.  Must be available for on-call and weekends.
 

OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF JOB:
To conduct investigations led by the District Attorney and to assist local, state and federal law enforcement agencies including the Drug Task Force.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB, include but are not limited to:
Conducts research and analyzes investigative materials and collects evidence in relation to violations and criminal activities; locates and interviews witnesses and prepares them to give testimony; prepares trial exhibits as requested; evaluates evidence obtained during investigations and prepares related summaries and reports of findings and recommendations; prepares and executes approved search warrants; investigates drug law violations throughout the County; directs the usage and maintains surveillance over suspects and conducts court approved wiretaps as necessary; serves court orders and subpoenas not served by Sheriff’s Department; responds to calls as needed (on-call 24 hours per day, seven days per week); travels as necessary to perform duties of the job; conducts investigations as part of the auto theft, insurance fraud and domestic violence units; prepares court papers, correspondence and reports as required; participates in continuing education programs in Criminal Investigation.

Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Training in drug law enforcement preferred; must be qualified pursuant to Act 120 of state law.  Must have a valid PA Driver’s License.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
2-3 years working experience in law enforcement; police certification and experience in investigative work, or any acceptable combination of experience and training.
