Chief County Detective - Full-Time - District Attorney's Office

Kittanning, PA

This is a full-time Chief County Detective position at $29.00 per hour, 40 hours per week at the Armstrong County District Attorney's Office.  Must be available for on-call and weekends.
 

OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF JOB:
To oversee and supervise the District Attorney's Criminal Investigation and Drug Task Force.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB, include but are not limited to:
Supervises County Detectives in the Criminal Investigation and Drug Task Force including assigning, managing and participating in investigations; reviews reports written by County Detectives; writes policies and procedures for accreditation programs; prepares required correspondence and investigative reports; conducts investigations; manages budgets of units supervised; schedules mandatory and elective training for County Detectives; Purchases or upgrades equipment when needed; completes any special duties assigned by District Attorney; manages evidence and ensures that laws relating to evidence are followed; travels as necessary to perform duties of the job; coordinates drug law enforcement activities as directed by the District Attorney's office; responds to calls as needed (on-call 24 hours per day, seven days per week), etc

Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Bachelor's Degree in law enforcement; must be qualified pursuant to Act 120 of state law.  Must maintain a valid PA Driver’s License.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years working experience in law enforcement; police certification and experience in managing investigative work, or any acceptable combination of experience and training.
