Department Clerk II - Full-time - Controller's Office

Kittanning, PA
This is a full-time position at $9.74 per hour.  M- F, 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB  include but are not limited to:
To perform a variety of routine accounting and clerical duties required by the Controller, including calculating, invoice review, posting, reviewing and recordkeeping duties. Assists Accounts Payable Supervisor and First Deputy Controller on an as-needed basis.  Reviews revenues turned in by Prothonotary, Register and Recorder, Clerk of Courts and Sheriff. Enter into excel files. Archive monthly all row office files. Reviews travel reimbursement forms. Reviews receipts and mileage as well as forwarding any taxable fringe benefits to H/R for proper taxation. Reviews accounts payable invoices for proper documentation, authorization and calculation of total amount due. Maintain the monthly row offices financial reports and prepare for storage, dispose of old reports. Reviews and determines state reimbursements for all jurors serving the County.  Prepares and distributes checks to assigned General Fund and Belmont Fund accounts. Researches each invoice through the computer system to verify that it has not been previously paid. Prepares selected funds for check distribution to the Treasurer's Office. Create new vendors if needed. Balances Lien Certificates, Sale Lists, Repository sales and Overpayments. Reviews daily and monthly Tax Claim receipts. Data entry into software program. Reviews quarterly Tax Claim reports; distribute payouts accordingly to County, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:
 EDUCATION/TRAINING:
High school diploma or equivalency, plus some computer experience and training in data processing and computer input required.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
1 – 2 years of working experience in bookkeeping, accounting or computer data entry required, preferably in County government, or any acceptable combination of experience and training.
