911 Coordinator - Full-time

This is a full-time position at $27,128.00/year.  Candidate will work a set schedule but will be on call as needed.

Overall Responsibilities
To direct and oversee daily activities related to 911/Emergency Communications services to County residents, as directed by the Director of Public Safety and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Assists in directing of the overall operation of 911/Emergency Communication Center, including development of policies, procedures and guidelines for the department; assists in directing, supervising and assigning work to all department staff, and handles all related personnel issues.; assists with developing annual operating budget for 911 and Communications; monitors expenditures of department to ensure they remain within budget; recommends and implements plans and procedures related to the Communication Center; develops specifications for various communication and telephone equipment as needed and maintains inventories; oversees all emergency communication equipment to ensure proper maintenance and operation; acts as liaison between County and community/communication-related activities and organizations; assists other County departments in emergency planning; establishes training programs as needed; coordinates the recruitment of qualified personnel.

EDUCATION/TRAINING: Bachelor’s degree in Management, Planning, Communications or other related field preferred; computer and telecommunication skills required.


WORK EXPERIENCE:4-5 years working experience, preferably in communications area and/or with government agency; also 2-3 years supervisory management experience necessary, or any acceptable combination of experience and/or training.
