Overall Responsibilities:
To perform a variety of routine accounting and clerical duties required by Supervisor, including calculating, posting, and recordkeeping duties.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Audits/reviews invoices and purchase orders for designated County funds and related accounts payable contracts; prepares and maintains spreadsheets for special projects; audits/reviews and determines state reimbursements; distributes checks from various funds; completes tax exemption certificates for Pennsylvania state tax for the department and vendors; maintains files, statistics, manuals, lists or other department documents as requested and as necessary; types letters, reports, memos and other documents required by the department staff; sorts, copies, processes mails and/or files documents, correspondence within the department; answers telephone and takes messages or transfers calls to proper individuals; assists internal auditors and retirement administration; assists general public, pensioners, department representatives and vendors by receiving or providing information, receiving payments or directing them as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma.  Computer experience and training on data processing and computer input.

 1 - 2 years’ working experience required in bookkeeping, accounting or computer data entry.
