This is a casual part-time position at approximately three (3) days per week, 8 AM to 4:30 PM.
Overall Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Develops and maintains a comprehensive Records Management program in cooperation with County officials, in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and guidelines. Surveys and analyzes all county records. Coordinates the continuous legal destruction of obsolete records through adoption and use of the state’s records retention and disposal schedule. Establishes guidelines for suitable retention periods for records that are not covered by the State’s records retention and disposition schedule. Establishes standards for proper records management in County departments and offices. Prepares informational reports relevant to the records management program and makes periodic reports on the records management program and its cost effectiveness. Operates a records center for the storage, processing, and servicing of all non current and archival records of Armstrong County, it’s administrative, fiscal and judicial offices. Provides assistance to department record coordinators. Reviews all requests for equipment used to store or maintain records, regardless of format, from County departments and offices. Primary back-up to the County’s Public Records Officer regarding the Right-to-Know Law and Public Access to Information.
EDUCATION/TRAINING: High school diploma or equivalent; some records management experience a plus.
WORK EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years of work experience, preferably in a records management environment, or any acceptable combination of experience and training.
