Adult Probation Officer - Veterans Court Coordinator - Full-time

Kittanning, PA
This is a full-time position.  M - F, 8 AM to 4:30 PM.  Hours may vary and include weekends.

Overall Responsibilities:

To assist in providing general oversight to the Armstrong County Veterans Court which is a specialized court that closely monitors veterans in the court system.  The mission is to successfully rehabilitate veterans involved in the court system using evidence based treatment to positively change their behavior to lead productive, law-abiding civilian lives.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Facilitate team meetings and serve as a liaison to local service providers and community groups; assist with organizing court, events and meetings and compile supporting materials to disseminate to the Team and court; insure the Veterans Court policies and procedures are updated as needed and followed during program operations; provide oversight of the statistical database (PAJCIS) and evaluation process of the Veterans Court; provide comprehensive case management and field supervision of Veterans Court participants; will utilize validated criminogenic risk/needs assessment tool to ensure the participant is receiving the appropriate level of supervision and treatment referrals; provide coordinated and comprehensive supervision and case management to include telephone contact, home/employment visits, as well as random field visits to the participants’ homes; conduct random urinalysis drug and alcohol testing and supervision compliance reporting that provide the Veterans Court Team with sufficient and timely information to implement sanctions, incentives, and therapeutic interventions, etc.

Bachelor’s Degree with a background of at least 18 credits in the behavioral or social sciences, criminal justice, law enforcement or related field required. Must be a United States Veteran with an honorable discharge.  Must have valid driver’s license and successfully complete a driving record check.  Must obtain Criminal History Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance.  
Work Experience
1 year experience interfacing with the public, county government, or court system preferred, or any combination of training and experience.
