Maintains the County General Ledger. Performs Account analyses including reconciliations on Assets, Liabilities, Revenues and Expenses. Prepares financial reports as necessary. Performs year-end accruals and closing of the books, and prepares year-end DCED report. Provides information and support to external auditors. Provides information for indirect cost plans, as needed. Reviews payroll reconciliation. Assists with preparation of annual Liquid Fuels report. Oversees monthly balancing and reconciliation of the Retirement Fund. Reviews for accuracy on federal and state grant reporting in compliance with the Single Audit Act. Monitors and maintains fixed asset inventory. Develops internal audit programs and/or utilizes internal audit programs already developed as directed by the Controller. Performs internal audits as directed by the Controller. Participates in the annual budget process. Calculates Worker’s Compensation reserves. Performs other duties as required.
4 year (or 2 year) degree from accredited college or university, preferably in Accounting. Strong computer skills required.
5 years’ experience working in accounting/auditing, or any acceptable combination of education and experience. Government and supervisory experience preferred. Financial software programs experience desired.
