This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week (call-out as needed).
Overall Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
To repair and maintain County vehicles for County as needed.
Checks vehicles and equipment for proper operation and makes repairs and adjustments including diesel engines and pump engines; performs general mechanic work on County vehicles and equipment; performs state inspections on County vehicles and County trailers; schedules service as needed; maintains and repairs generators, as needed; performs preventive maintenance in accordance with prepared schedule; monitors shop inventory and orders parts and supplies as needed; assists in the preparation of vehicle maintenance budget; performs routine maintenance and repair on vehicle HVAC systems; coordinates and manages the maintenance of all County fleet vehicles and trailers, including processing proper documentation for registrations and transfers; performs welding repairs and fabrication as needed for county facilities; coordinates the salvage of non-titled vehicles seized by various County law enforcement agencies and programs; performs routine maintenance on small engines – i.e. weed eaters, etc; operates equipment including back hoe, trucks or other power tools as needed.
Must possess and maintain post-secondary certification for vehicle repair plus maintain State Inspection License for vehicles and trailers. Must have a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License and successfully complete a driving record check. Licensed salvor preferred.
3-5 years working experience as mechanic.
